A new addition to the aquascaping hobby, Black Forest Spiderwood is a variety of the popular spiderwood driftwood, with dark black coloration. Along with the twisted branches, and its dark color, it provides sharp contrast to bright green plants and light colored sands or stones. Very versatile for forest scapes, island scapes and other styles based on driftwood.

Some driftwoods can leech tannins that can result in a brown or yellowish tint to the water. The tint will reduce over time with water changes. Boiling the driftwood can reduce the tannins. Alternatively soak it in water until tint is acceptable to you.

Driftwoods have trapped air and can float why initially submerged. Soak it in water until it fully sinks before using. You can also use a heavy rock or decor to keep it submerged until it naturally sinks by itself.
